What Would You Tell Someone Considering A Career In Accounting?
My father was one but we aren’t speaking too much. I just wanted to know what types of things I would study and what things I would actually do on the job. I am pretty good at math too. And the school I will attend has a specific accounting major. Oh and do you actually enjoy your job? Are you happy with the choice you made?

well, i am not yet in accounting but i will graduate this year with an accounting degree. i originally decided to join the major because my father is in business and encourages me to be in a ‘money making’ profession. however – i am really bummed that i have wasted so much money and time getting a degree in it. i figured out too late that it is not my thing and i wish i could have gone to school for something more creative. my biggest advice to you is that if you are unsure about accounting right now take a lot of gen ed courses that allow you to see what different things are offered and whether you like them or not. i would do this the first year and maybe a couple accounting classes to see if you like that. but dont settle because you dont know – if anything just get involved in groups so you dont get a degree in something that might not thrill you! you only live once!!

I know someone that it an accounting and they like it but also hate it. I mean they like working with math and they enjoy helping others do their taxes. LOL!!! The job can also get borning and long at times. It can also get buesy durning tax time. In all she likes the job but feels that their could be a bit more fun to it.
