I was always interested in budgeting and managing money when I was growing up, and then I became interested in corporate frauds like Enron, and I wanted to learn how to trace those crooks through their paper trail.
I am more interested in public accounting, but I realize getting a degree in accounting and my CPA opens up a vast amount of doors. Not only does it pay well out of college, but you could easily get a job in the corporate setting with that type of back ground.
As an auditor I am given the chance to go into a company for a couple of months and learn how everything works and meet new people, then a couple months later I can go to a new company and see how they run their business. I find it very interesting. Also, I really don’t mind doing income taxes as well, individuals are the most interesting to me though because you can see a portion of the last year of the persons life.
If I choose in my future to return to school to obtain a degree in marketing, finance, of IT my possibilities could become endless having both degrees under my belt.
