Quickbooks Advice

Quick Books Pro Question: I Need Tips On How To Transfer General Deposits Into Customer Payments.?

Hello, We have always entered our invoices in Alpha 4, but for tax purposes we entered our payments in QuickBooks so we’d have a report of our income. The payments were entered as general deposits not as costomer payments because there were no costumer invoices to apply them to in QB.
Then in Oct. 2006, we decided to start using QuickBooks for our costumer invoices & began entering client payments as client payments instead of general deposits. #1 Can we switch general deposits into customer payments or do we have to go in by hand and delete each general deposit and then re-enter it as a costomer payment? #2 If we do switch them over won’t all the reconciliations be off?
Any helpful advice and insights would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks!!!

Advice On New Server Being Purchased.?

We are about to replace our server at the office I work at. It is currently being used as a file server with a few users that map to a few shared folders with their own names and pass’.
What we need is a server that can handle taking over the linksys job of assigning IPs (about 35 computers are on the network and the linksys often gives ip conflicts). It will be used as a file server for quickbooks and various other applications. It will back up daily and will have multiple users.

Quickbooks Vs Pro Accounting?

Does anyone have any experience of using ‘Pro Accounting’ (a freeware package being sold on ebay)??
I’m looking to buy an accounting package for a small charity and obviously if this does the same job just as well, then we’d rather not spend the £300…
Ay other advice on better/ cheaper software would be most welcome (this is a UK based charity, also registered as a limited company if that makes any dfference to your answers!!)
thanks in advance for any advice

Accounting Entries (quickbooks/others) For Purchases. Help!?

Looking for advice.
I bought several items ($2,000.00) intended for sale in a business where I am a member using my personal credit card. Some people say I can just ask for a reimbursement for this… or the company just issue a promissory note payable in the future. anyway, not sure what to do in the booking.
Help!… nobody in the business is into accounting and we cannot afford to hire one for now.
