I Currently Own Quickbooks 2003. Can I Use A Backup File Created With ’03 With A New Version, Like 2008?

My business recently upgraded its computers. When we tried to install our Quickbooks 2003 on the new system, we realized it was actually an upgrade and requires 2002 (or earlier) to be installed first. The problem is we do not have 2002 anymore.
We would like to buy a new copy of Quickbooks 2008, but we do not know if out data will be restored to 2008 using the 2003 backups that we have.
Will this work, or are we stuck having to track down a copy of 2002?

Do you have any suggestions on a good, simple to use online tool that can help me balance my budget? Quickens.com asks too many personal questions.. I don’t want to tell them where I bank and my bank account #’s are non-of their business. I just want a tool where I can enter my income and expenses and manage my budget better…

I need to know how to set up quickbooks in such that I can generate a report which will tell me the following things:
-Where and how to list my items in my inventory which are never sold and only rented out to customers
-At which point I have made back the cost of purchasing the equipment?
-Track Inventory as far as how many is in stock on a daily basis and how many is out being rented
-Profit from rental income based on each job
I am new to Quickbooks so any advice will help. Thanks so much!

…reading these may be helpful. Even if you don’t plan to use the specific features, reading these tutorials will help you learn about Quickbooks. Open a new folder for your notes. You can name it ‘Notebook’. Copy and paste any important Quickbooks info onto ‘notepad’ text files, neaten them up a little and file them to go over later and study.

I don’t have any stocks, own properties, or make payments of any form. I rent an apartment and have only been working for a year. However I do have a son but I am unmarried and the mother is claiming him for this year.

Looking For A 2005 Book By A Working Mom Of Like 11 Kids?

I can’t recall her name or the name of the book and there are just too many ‘working moms’ books on amazon to search for. She is in her forties, and has like 11 kids, and is an excercise trainer or nutritionist or something. PLease help me locate her book… i remember a blurb somthing like, “if momma’s not happy then no one is happy.” and she speaks to this in her book about keeping sanity as a working mom and mom in general.
