Quicken Questions

Can Quicken Handle Euro?

I have a bank account with a European bank, in Euro, and would like to use Quicken on my Mac. one issue I’m worried about: here the decimal point is a comma, not a dot – seems trivial, but can Quicken handle “1,509.50″ if it’s written “1.509,50″ in the downloaded qif file?

Are Any Quicken Users Unable To Update Their Accounts Over The Web Right Now?

Quicken is telling me it is unable to verify financial institution information. After a bit of research I learned that Quicken checks with its servers to verify a bank has been paying to export the Quicken files (I’m using PC but Mac users are *really* screwed by this since banks need to pay more to allow the same file to be imported into Macs).
Anyway, I’ve tried changing the information to look like a different bank and no luck- is there a problem with Quicken’s servers right now?
Does anyone know the response the program is looking for ? If so I will just set up my own server and change the address in my Hosts file to get around this..

How Do I Convert Several Years Worth Of Qif/csv Mac Quicken Data Into A Pc Quicken Format- Qdf, Qdb Or Qdt?

I’ve been using SplashMoney on my Palm Pilot for almost 5 years now. I can easily export data throught the Palm Pilot Hot Sync conduit in either CSV or QIF format. But my accountant will only accept QDB or QDF data. I can currently import QDF, QDB or QDT files into PC Quicken 2008. My accountant also gave me a copy of PC Quickbooks, but I can’t figure out anyway to get the financial data through (vendors & customers, yes, but not account data).
At a minimum I want to convert the last year of data for both my personal & business accounts. I’ve purchased Pocket Quicken, and my goal is to sync Pocket Quicken with Quicken 2008.
Microsoft Excel or Office Accountant seems like it might be an intermediary step. I have Excel, but not Accountant.

Looking For A Free Substitute For Pocket Quicken (palm)?

Is there a substitute for Pocket Quicken for Palm OS? I’m looking for something to manage my financial accounts in to keep track of everything i’ve paid and that i owe?

Are There Any Budgeting Software (quicken, Mint.com Etc…) That Allow You Track Cash You’ve Spent? ?

I’m really interesting in using one of these to keep track of all my accounts, but I spend cash sometimes and I would like that to be tracked. I’m tired of at the end of each month using pen and paper to add up all my receipts and statements. If one of these programs had a cash option that would be the one I’d be into.

What’s The Difference Between Quickbooks And Quicken?

Does Quickbooks have everything Quicken has? Which came first?

Quicken (and All Of It’s Unanswered Secrets)?

I couldn’t find any tutorials so here goes nothing. If you can help with any of these questions. I’d be better off
- Why does Quicken balance my accounts 2x for one transfer? For example, if I transfer $2 from Checking to Savings, my Checking will show a Transfer for $2 and a withdrawal from Savings for $2. How do I fix?
- So let’s say my account balance goes astray from it’s actual balance. How do I reconcile or download my bank statement into Quicken rather than put a fake adjustment in?
- Where can I find tutorials on using Quicken? All the software came with is how to pay off debt.

How Can I Track Timeshare Rental/expenses In Quicken Or Excel?

We own a few timeshare weeks that we typically rent out. We’re looking for an easy way to track our expenses and income. We use Quicken Deluxe. Neither of us has any accounting experience so don’t know the “correct” way to do this. I tried creating an asset account in Quicken, but when I did a deposit in our checking account with the category being a transfer to the timeshare asset, it came out as a decrease in the asset. Should we just do two transactions instead of trying to tie the them together? Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Quicken Help: Designating Fund Transfers?

Hi,
How can I designate a transaction on my bank account as a transfer to/from my other bank accounts, without Quicken automatically duplicating that transaction on the other account?
Scenario:
Transfer $500 from Account A to Account B.
Account A shows -$500, Account B shows +$500. But I would like Quicken to recognize that these are not income or expenses, but merely transfers.
I tried labeling the -$500 in Account A as a “Transfer to Account B”. But Quicken automatically duplicates the record on Account B with a +$500 entry, in addition to the +$500 entry already in Account B.

Do You Use Quicken Online, Or Do You Know If It’s Safe To Do So?

I mean you need to enter your financial information (account numbers, passwords, etc) to the quicken online account. I find this a little worrying… no?
