If I Start A New Business This Week, What Will Be My Basis And Accounting Periods? Will It Matter?
I am sole trader and want to start business this week (week of 9th of March), and preferably starting tomorrow. What will be my basis period and accounting period? I don’t understand what those really are and why I should be concerned about them. Can I just start trading whenever I want and let the accountant worry about the accounting periods? Thanks in advance

Which Career In Accounting Is 40 Hrs Work Week?
I have heard that Accountants work long hours and do not have a lot of time to spend with their families, friends and to pursue activities outside of work. So I want to know which career in the Accounting field would be a perfect match for me that will allow me to have time with my families? I am talking about a career in the Accounting field which require 40 hours work week and that will not require me to bring paperwork at home if I have not completed them.

I’ve used Quickbooks for quite some time, and no, I’ve never seen a feature on it that will keep track of jobs to be done. It’s an accounting program. I think what you need is a scheduling program – something with a calendar and reminders. Microsoft has one called ‘Outlook’.
